Looking for some daily newsroom experience? The Brandon Sun daily newspaper is currently accepting resumés for a full-time reporter/photographer term position that will end on Dec. 10, 2021.
 
The Sun boasts an award-winning staff and is one of Canada’s leading community dailies. As a member of FP Newspapers, The Brandon Sun is a sister paper to the Winnipeg Free Press and successful applicants may see their work appear in that publication as well.
 
We want talented writers who are able to find and produce compelling stories and features for both our online and print products. Prior experience at a daily newspaper is an asset.
 
Qualified candidates should be active on social media, be able to prove their proficiency in still photography, and show their experience with multimedia reporting. 
 
Other qualifications:
• Superior writing and strong news judgment
• A degree or diploma in journalism, or related experience
• Willingness to adapt to new trends in online reporting
 
Brandon is a growing, forward-looking Prairie city of 50,000 in southwestern Manitoba, with hot summers and exceptional cultural diversity. We have easy highway access to Winnipeg and an air link to Calgary.
 
We expect all applications to have a valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle. This position may require evening and weekend work. Salary is commensurate with experience, as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
