FRIDAY
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Brandon Farmers’ Market inside The Town Centre (800 Rosser Ave., Brandon). Local fresh produce, baking, jams and jellies, pickling, yarn, bison, beef, beeswax candles, crafts and more. This event runs year-round.
• 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. — Dance and socialize at the Central Community Centre (529 Fourth St., Brandon) on Friday afternoons. Music by Prairie Fire. Admission is $7.50 including lunch. For more information, call 204-729-9301.
• 7:30 p.m. — Pro series concert featuring duo 526 at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall, Brandon University (270 18th St., Brandon). An evening of music featuring Kerry DuWors, violin, and Futaba Niekawa, piano. Tickets are $20 for adults and seniors. No admission fee for all music and conservatory of music students.
SATURDAY
• 7:30 to 11 p.m. — “Steppin’ Out” Old Tyme dance at the Royal Canadian Legion No. 3 (at the corner of Victoria Avenue East and 13th Street East) in Brandon. Live music by the band Kawliga. Refreshments available. Admission is $15. All are welcome. For more information, call Barb at 204-728-5636.
MONDAY
• 1:15 to 4 p.m. — The East End Sunshine Club meets on Mondays at the East End Community Centre at the corner of Victoria Avenue East and Park Street. Coffee and snacks. Members and guests welcome. For further information, call 204-727-3539.
• 6:30 p.m. — UCT Travo Bingo (205 College Ave., Brandon). Early bird starts at 6:30 p.m. and regular games start at 7:10 p.m. Chase the Ace each week. Proceeds go to help those in need in Brandon and area.
TUESDAY
• 7 to 9 p.m. — The Wheat City Carvers meet each Tuesday until mid-April at the Vincent Massey High School drafting room to share the skill of carving and woodwork with fellow carvers of all skill levels. For more information, call Bette Tardiff at 204-726-4191 or Craig Miller at 204-761-2013.

• Brandon Wheat Kings vs. Portland Winterhawks — Friday at the Keystone Centre (1175 18th St.). Game time 7 p.m.
• Brandon University Bobcats basketball — Both men’s and women’s teams take on the University of British Columbia this Friday and Saturday. Women play at 6 p.m. on Friday and men at 8 p.m. Game times for Saturday are 5 p.m. for women and 7 p.m. for men.

AT THE CLUBS
• The 40 (210 18th St. North, Brandon) — New to The 40 stage: Stonewalled. Classics from Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Tragically Hip and Collective Soul. Shows on both Friday and Saturday, each starting at 10 p.m. Cover $5. This is an 18-plus event. Photo identification required.
• Lady of the Lake Shop, Café and Pub (210 18th St. North, Brandon) — Zach Weston plays folk, indie and originals at 6 p.m. on Friday (free show). The EB Quintet follows at 9-11 p.m. with pop, hip hop, R&B and jazz ($5 cover). Tickets for live music may be purchased online in advance on eventbrite.ca or at the door. AT THE MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES
• The Royal Canadian Artillery Museum (Building N-118 Patricia Rd., CFB Shilo) — The only museum in the world dedicated to telling the story of more than 200,000 gunners who served Canada. The museum’s collection consists of more than 65,000 artifacts and includes more than 170 artillery pieces and vehicles. Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. • The Daly House Museum (122 18th St., Brandon) — Built in 1882, the Daly House was the original home of Brandon’s first mayor, Thomas Mayne Daly. Artifacts include a collection of late 19th-century and early 20th-century furnishings, First World War memorabilia, toys and dolls and women’s wear. Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. (September to June); Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. (July and August). Admission: $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and youth (six to 18 years old), family (up to two adults and three children $12, and children under five are free. Phone: 204-727-1722.
• The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Unit 2, 710 Rosser Ave., Brandon) — A “contemporary art gallery that celebrates artistic excellence and diversity within our region and beyond.” The AGSM is Manitoba’s oldest centre for visual art and one of Canada’s first. Hours: 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Phone 204-727-1036 or email: info@agsm.ca.
• Brandon General Museum and Archives (19 Ninth St., Brandon) — Exhibits include Manitoba telephone history, Brandon History Hall, the BJ Hales Gallery and the William G. AT THE EVANS THEATRE
• Jan. 6-8 at 7:30 p.m. — “The Last Bus”: Following his wife’s death, a widower uses a free bus pass to travel the length of Britain, becoming a media phenomenon in the process. Admission is $6. The Evans Theatre is located at Brandon University (270 18th St., Brandon).
