Immigration plan not thought out
Canada is plagued by homelessness, thousands of suffering and seemingly forgotten veterans and floundering social and health-care systems that can’t adequately address the needs of the people currently in this country. Yet, earlier this month the Trudeau Liberal government announced plans to allow around half a million new immigrants into Canada annually by 2025. Any competent and rational leader would ensure every citizen in his/her country was adequately cared for before allowing more people to immigrate here.
Daylight saving time
I read that the province wants to look at possibly keeping one time, and there is discussion back and forth as to which is better to keep. There is talk that standard time is most healthy, and for me I disagree. This is because I get seasonal affective disorder and there are many who can relate. During winter due to the least amount of daylight, I am pretty depressed most of time, just no motivation to do the simplest tasks. Yes, I take my vitamin D and have tried many things. I enjoy the longer nights in summer because of being able to travel longer on the road and being able to sit outdoors. I always look forward to daylight saving. It is depressing to finish work and go home in the dark in winter months. Of course, there will be those who prefer standard time and I respect that. I say we should test out both to see the effects. Talking and debating won’t do anyone good until it is tested. Then the true effects will be shown.
